A young woman from Maidstone has died in a tragic accident while on a gap year in Australia.
Jade Fox, 22, was in Fraser Island in Queensland when the accident is reported to have happened on Friday.
On Tuesday she had spoken of her excitement at the trip, posting on her Facebook page: "Up early doors to travel Frazer Island for three days."
Friends of Ms Fox have paid tribute to the popular, outgoing girl, describing her as gorgeous and a lovely, fun-loving girl with a loving family.
She had been working at Australian Credit and Finance, but her previous jobs had included work at Top Shop in Fremlin Walk in Maidstone.
It is understood she was fatally injured when her four-wheel drive vehicle overturned at around 2pm on Friday.
Australian police are said to be investigating the cause of the accident, in which seven other passengers were also injured.
Friends paid tribute to her on Twitter.
Ross Grant wrote: "RIP to Jade Fox. Poor girl. Crazy to think i saw her group leave the hostel to do the tour and was on the island when it happened. So sad," while Debbie Louise posted: "RIP to a beautiful girl who had her whole life ahead of her. God gained an angel."
Ms Fox had been in Australia for six months.
