MAIDSTONE United have signed the former Southend and Colchester defender Ben Lewis from Conference South side Welling.

Joint-manager Lloyd Hume said: "He's got Football League experience and he's a good strong centre-half."

The 28-year-old is the Stones second signing of the summer, following the capture of Craig Wilkins from Dover.
