Council invites residents in Tonbridge and Malling to give their views in an online meeting

Residents in Tonbridge and Malling have the opportunity to go online and quiz their council leaders about the borough's plans for the next two years from the comfort of their own homes.

The council has initiated a public consultation on what should be its proirities, and as part of the debate will be holding an open online forum on Tuesday, January 17.

Among the topics expected to be discussed are the Local Plan, investment in the town and how to make the best use of Tonbridge Castle.

Council leader Matt Boughton said: "We want a strategy underpinned by innovation, transformation and delivery.

"This will help ensure we can encourage investment in the borough, deliver better housing for local people and make real progress towards a sustainable solution to climate change.

"Our corporate strategy sets out our route to achieving these goals, and I hope residents and businesses will respond enthusiastically to this consultation, sharing their thoughts with us and helping us to develop a strategy that reflects what residents want from the council."
