This was the aftermath yesterday when two cars collided on a busy Medway A-road, closing it for six hours.

Firefighters had to cut free a woman from her Fiat after it collided with another car in Corporation Street at the junction with Gas House Road.

Crews from Medway and Strood were called to the scene at about 1.10pm yesterday (Monday, December 28).

Paramedics treated a man and a woman at the scene. They were both taken to Medway Maritime Hospital and released later that day.

Police attended and the road was closed until 7.30pm.
