Three people have been arrested following a fatal crash which killed two people.

A blue BMW 1 Series was travelling along City Way near to Pattens Lane, Rochester at around 11.45pm on Saturday when it collided with a grey Skoda Fabia.

Two men who were passengers in the Fabia, both in their 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle and another passenger suffered injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Police have now arrested two men and one woman in connection with the incident.

They have all been released on police bail pending further investigation.

The road was closed in both directions for several hours that night while officers conducted investigation work between Old Pattens Lane and Pattens Lane.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or has dashcam footage or CCTV, to come forward.
