Teens arrested after reports of threatening McDonald's customer with axe in Strood

A group of teenagers have been arrested after a customer was allegedly threatened with an axe when a fight broke out in a McDonald's branch.

Three boys were held on suspicion of affray after they reportedly wreaked havoc at the restaurant in Strood, with one said to have wielded the weapon.

The incident took place in the early hours of last Friday.

A police spokesman confirmed the three boys were arrested on Monday.

They have since been released on bail until March 4 pending further inquiries.

In a tweet, Kent Police Medway posted: "Six arrests so far for the Towns Team this week.

"Three of them for an affray where the suspect wielded an axe to threaten the victim."

It has not been confirmed which branch in Strood – Commercial Road or Medway Valley Leisure Park – the incident took place at.
