A warped killer who hacked his ex girlfriend to death in a crazed attack has married in prison.

Rape-obsessed David Ferguson is serving a life sentence for the murder of Susan Kent. The mother-of two was found dead in her home in Birch Grove, Hempstead, with multiple stab wounds on November 24, 1999.

DNA evidence found Ferguson to be the killer, but that didn’t faze his new girlfriend Carol Nash and now the pair are wed.

Mrs Kent was divorced from the father of her children, John Kent, but when she failed to pick her little girl up from school on that November afternoon staff contacted John’s mother Iris Kent and it was she who went to the house and made the grim discovery.

The 33-year-old dinner lady and part-time childminder was found handcuffed on the bed, her body covered in blood.

Her throat had been slashed and she had multiple stab wounds to her chest. Prosecutors at the time said she had also been sexual assaulted.

Ferguson, formerly of Port Rise, Chatham, met Mrs Kent at the Casino Rooms, Rochester, the year before and has always maintained his innocence. He blogs from within the high security HMP Wakefield, West Yorkshire, and has been planning his marriage for months.

In his latest entry the 45-year-old wrote: “To say that the prison’s management team were as obstructional as they possibly could be is an understatement. This has now resulted in our wedding date having to be delayed a week. However, everything is now in place and Carol and I will be wed on Monday 24th August.”

The pair, who started off as prison pen-pals, have been together for six years and Ferguson proposed in May 2013. At the time he wrote: “I proposed to my beautiful partner Carol and I am very proud to say that she said ‘yes’. We are both blissfully happy.

“Prison can never be an ideal setting for such a special event but making our commitment to each other official is what matters to us.

“On a personal note I just wish to say that I feel unbelievably blessed to have someone as amazing as Carol agree to commit to me as she has. It is now more important than ever for me to achieve true justice so that I can be with Carol properly and provide for her.”

The ceremony was limited to five guests, including two witnesses, and Ferguson paid out for rings and “a nice dress for the day” for Carol, who he refers to in his blog as his ‘kitten’.

Prisoners are entitled to apply to be married in prison under the Marriages Act 1983. The Express reported that the ceremony was followed with a buffet, paid for by Ferguson.

During his trial, it emerged the print worker had a sordid interest in bondage and rape, and had the words ‘Murderous Intent’ tattooed on his back. He had even discussed on the internet setting up a UK Rape Club, where female victims would wear badges to identify themselves.

A prison psychologist’s report of found “evidence of sado-masochistic sexual activity in his [Ferguson’s] life generally, including the use of threats and weapons. Deviant sexual arousal such as this is notoriously difficult to change”.

In two reviews of his detention held since he was jailed, prison boards found that Ferguson is “highly dangerous” and should be kept in as a top security “Category A” prisoner. The judge said he should serve 20 years before parole is even considered.

But for Carol none of that is getting in the way. Commenting on his blog she said: “I have never doubted his innocence – I believe in him implicitly and I am honored and privileged to be a part of his life.

“He is truly one in a million – his honesty, sincerity and integrity are second to none. It’s about time the ‘justice system’ admitted its atrocious and unforgivable error in keeping this innocent man incarcerated.

“I will be waiting at those gates, ready to begin our ‘Happy Ever After’! Keep fighting! I love and miss you more than words can say. Always thinking of you. All my Love, hugs and kisses.”
