A crash between a bus and a car closed a road in Twydall this morning.

The smash, which involved an Arriva bus and a Volkswagen Golf, happened in Goudhurst Road, shortly after 10am.

Police partially closed the road at the junction with Twydall Green while they dealt with the crash, in which the front of both vehicles were damaged.

It is not thought anyone was seriously injured during the collision, which happened close to the former Royal Engineers pub, which is being turned into a Chinese restaurant.

A passerby, who saw the aftermath, said: "Both the Golf and the bus have suffered quite a bit of damage to their fronts.

"I couldn’t see anyone on the bus, but the driver didn’t look very happy. I’m not sure if the Golf was stationary when the crash happened or if it was being driven.

"The road was closed for about 150 metres each way by the police, a tow truck turned up to take the vehicles away when I was there shortly before noon."
