Car crashes into front of Papa John’s in Twydall, Gillingham

A car has crashed into the front window of a Papa John’s pizza takeaway as witnesses described hearing a “loud smash”.

The vehicle was spotted yesterday evening at the branch in Twydall, Gillingham.

Witnesses shared a photo on Facebook showing the black Honda Jazz smashed through the shopfront while people looked on.

The area has been taped off but it is not yet known if anyone has been injured.

One person reacted to the post saying: “I actually don’t know how this could happen but hope the driver and employees are all okay.”

Another wrote: “I thought I heard a loud smash. How on earth did they manage that?”

Kent Police confirmed they were called at 7.18pm on to a report of a car had colliding with a shop front on Twydall Green, Gillingham.

Officers attended along with other emergency services, no injuries were reported, the vehicle was recovered and the shop made safe.
