Chatham manager Kevin Watson feels his side are under-achieving so far this season and points to Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Cheshunt as the latest example.

Against a team who were second in Ryman League Division 1 North before kick-off, the Chats led 2-0 with 20 minutes to go but were unable to close out the result.

The point left Chatham in seventh and Watson, pictured, said: "We are not doing too bad but we could be doing a bit better.

"To go to Cheshunt and get a point looks not a bad result, but to be 2-0 up with less than half an hour to go and not win is disappointing."

Jean-Michel Sigere put Chatham ahead on 18 minutes from a cut-back by Lee Hales and was also involved in Chats’ second goal on 50 when he exchanged passes with Jack Jeffrey before Jack Pallen fired home.

But Cheshunt pulled a goal back through Courtney White on 72 minutes and were then handed an equaliser by Matt Newman’s own goal five minutes later.

Chatham host Aveley on Saturday, with Watson hoping Ryan Laker will have shaken off the bug which forced him to miss the Cheshunt game.
