The 31-year-old appeared in the dock at Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday (May 16).

He pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine and ecstasy, as well as admitting possession of cannabis.

The court heard he was found to be supplying the drugs between June 7 and June 24 last year.

James Nichols, prosecuting, told magistrates the cases should be sent to crown court as sentencing guidelines for the dealing offences were outside of their powers.

The prosecutor didn’t reveal the amounts of cocaine and ecstasy Spear was found with during the hearing, nor how much weed he had on him when police arrested him.

The bench refused jurisdiction and agreed the case should be sent to Maidstone Crown Court to be dealt with and ordered a pre-sentencing report be carried out on Spear before then.

Spear, of High Street, Rainham, was granted bail until then and a date for his sentencing hearing is yet to be set.
