A 21-year-old man denied manslaughter when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court today.

Ruben White, of Kingswood Road, Gillingham, is alleged to have killed Lithuanian Saulius Klevinskas, who suffered head injuries in Balmoral Road in the town, on August 21.

The 35-year-old, who lived in Grays, Essex, died in Medway Hospital five days later.

Judge Jeremy Carey set the trial date for January 31 next year. White was remanded in custody.
