The ground floor of a block of flats was flooded last night after a water tank burst in Allhallows.

Firefighters from Strood station were called to Avery Court, in Avery Way, at about 9.15pm.

The tank, in a higher level of the building, caused the flooding of electrical equipment in the block of flats, which created the smell of smoke.

A fire crew ensured the electrics were safe.
