Police find 200 cannabis plants in house in Thorold Road, Chatham

Police discovered hundreds of cannabis plants at a empty property following a tip-off.

Officers unearthed the find at a house in Thorold Road, Chatham, on Good Friday.

Three police vehicles, two cars and a van were seen parked in the road on Friday and a forensic van and two more police cars were spotted on Saturday.

One neighbour who did not want to be named said: "Then on the Sunday a police car was parked outside the property all day and all night with an officer inside it.

"The same happened on Monday."

Police spokesman Jordan Bluer said: "Kent Police carried out a search of a vacant property in Thorold Road, Chatham, following a report of cannabis cultivation.

"More than 200 plants have been seized and growing equipment.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
