Ian Matthew James Harvey charged with causing death by dangerous driving after fatal collision in Higham

Officers investigating a crash that killed a 56-year-old Chatham woman have charged a man with causing death by dangerous driving.

Susan Hayward, 56, from Chatham, died at the scene of the accident in Chalk Road, Higham, on Saturday, December 5.

She was one of four people travelling in a black Ford Focus when it collided with a blue Ford Fiesta.

Two men also sustained serious injuries.

Now police have charged 23-year-old Ian Matthew James Harvey, of Burdett Avenue in Gravesend, with causing death by dangerous driving.

He was also charged with two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been bailed to attend Medway Magistrates’ Court on June 1.
