Man arrested over flatmate's stabbing in Rochester

A man has been remanded in custody after allegedly stabbing another man in the arm.

Police were called to an address in Mallard Way, Lower Stoke, Rochester, at around 8.45pm on Tuesday.

It followed a call to say there was a disturbance going on inside.

A 46-year-old man, who lives there, suffered a stab wound to the arm and was taken to hospital.

The injury was not serious and he was later able to leave the hospital.

Another man living there was arrested in connection with the incident and has now appeared in court.

Both men were known to each other.

Derek Bovell, 44, of Mallard Way, Lower Stoke, has been charged with wounding with intent.

Bovell was remanded in custody when he appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court.

He will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court, on September 17.
