Man charged after theft from car in Gillingham

A man has been charged in connection with a theft from a car in Gillingham.

Darryl Davies, 28, of Watling Street, Gillingham, was arrested on Tuesday, following an investigation into a reported theft around the Darland estate area.

Davies has been released on bail to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on, Tuesday, January 7, and has been given conditions to remain at his home address between 7pm and 7am every day.

He must also not to enter the Darland estate for any reason and to report to Medway Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Det Sgt Adam Marshall said: “If any of the bail conditions are breached then Davies will be immediately arrested and could be remanded in custody until his court appearance.

“I would urge all drivers to ensure that money and valuables are not left on display.”

In a separate case, Davies was arrested on November 16, and charged in relation to two thefts from taxis on Byron Road, Gillingham on November 10.

He appeared at the same court today (wed dec 9) relation to the Byron Road thefts.
