Man lying in the road after crash near Rochester Bridge

A man was lying in the middle of a road after being hit by a car in Rochester High Street.

It happened just before Rochester Bridge at around 7.20am.

Police have cordoned off a small section of the High Street and are looking after the injured man.

Ambulance crews treated the man at the scene for head and shoulder injuries.

He was taken to Medway Maritime hospital and was said not to be in a life threatening condition.

The crash happened on the Rochester-bound carriageway and traffic going across the bridge is moving slowly.
