Man seriously injured in Gillingham car crash

A 60-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after the car he was driving was involved in a crash in Gillingham.

The crash happened in Brompton Road, outside the barracks, at around 5.15pm Saturday.

The victim, from Rochester, was driving a blue Citroen Xsara.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital and a police spokesman described his condition on Monday afternoon as "critical but stable".

A woman passenger in the Citroen suffered no injuries, while a man and woman travelling in the other car involved, a black VW Golf, were also unhurt.
