Teenage boy's bike targeted in attempted robbery on Rochester Bridge

Police are hunting a would-be robber who tried to grab a teenage boy's bike as he rode over Rochester Bridge.

The boy was cycling on the railway side of the bridge in the direction of Stood when he was approached by the man.

He attempted to grab the bike but following a short struggle, fled empty-handed in the direction of Rochester.

He is described as white, in his mid-20s and around 5ft 8ins tall with a slim build.

At the time he was wearing a grey hoody with a body warmer over the top and dark trousers.

Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, which happened at around 5.40pm on Wednesday, and are particularly keen to speak to drivers who may have caught it on their dash-cams.
