Plans for 76 homes off Station Road, Rainham, approved

Plans for more homes in Rainham have been approved.

Medway Council granted permission to build up to 76 homes off Station Road.

Developer McCullochs (CI) Limited wants to put up a mixture of flats for up to four people and houses for up to six people, with a quarter of the homes being affordable.

The land had previously been earmarked for 60 homes and sits opposite a new development, managed by the same developer, which is due to feature up to 116 homes.

Meanwhile, another development in Station Road was refused due to concerns about the privacy of potential occupiers.

Plans had been submitted for the conversion of a former plumbing supplies shop into six flats.

The council's planning department concluded the position of the windows would cause privacy issues for those living there and in the neighbouring buildings.
