Traffic stopped after man spotted on bridge on M2

A motorway was closed while police dealt with a man seen on a motorway bridge.

Traffic was being held on the M2 before junction two for the A228 Sundridge Hill for Cuxton.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers were called at 5.35pm due to concern for a man on the M2 coastbound carriageway.

"Officers attended and the traffic was stopped for a short time while the man was brought to safety."

The road has now re-opened.
