Chatham: Cars damaged and abandoned by lorry in the snow in Dargets Road, Walderslade

Heavy snow caused carnage on a road in Medway, as police attended two incidents within two hours

First, a car collided with an electricity pole just before 8pm in Dargets Road, Walderslade.

Then at 9pm a lorry lost control and ploughed down the road and collided with a car and a skip.

Dargets Road resident, Mark Láver said: "I saw the lorry at the bottom of my road.

"A lot of people were saying the lorry had hit fours or five cars on the way down.

"Woke up this morning and the lorry had gone."

The lorry was reported to have continued driving after the incident and no injuries were reported.

Police spokesman Vicki Foster said: "Due to the weather conditions recovery of the vehicles were not possible at the time.

"A report of the collision will be progressed by officers."
