Police called to travellers in Sonora Fields, Sittingbourne

Travellers have pitched up at a housing estate in Sittingbourne prompting police to visit the site.

The caravans, which have parked up on land running off Argent Way at Sonora Fields, started in the afternoon.

Police said they were responding to reports of a "large number of caravans" and are working with the council who own the land.

A police spokesman said: "We are responding to reports of a large number of caravans that have arrived on a green in Sittingbourne.

"Officers are liaising with the council who own the land."
