Suspected drug dealers arrested in Goudhurst Road, Gillingham, with help from sniffer dog

Two men have been arrested after a sniffer dog recovered several wraps of suspected cocaine.

On Monday, officers spotted a vehicle which was believed to be transporting drugs.

It was stopped in Goudhurst Road, Gillingham, at around 1pm, where the driver, in his 40s, a passenger in his 20s and the car were searched with help from canine officer Dougal.

With the labrador’s help, police were able to find and seize several wraps of suspected cocaine as well as a large sum of cash.

Both men, from Gillingham, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cocaine.

The driver was additionally arrested for driving without a licence or insurance and the passenger for suspicion of permitting another person to drive without insurance.

The two men have since been bailed until August 31 pending further inquiries.
