Pub broken into days after it shut down

A pub in Strood was broken into just days after it shut down.

The Bull’s Head pub, on the corner of London Road and Gun Lane was broken into at some point between 3pm on yesterday, (Monday) and 9am today (Tues, Aug 11)

It was closed on Friday by its owners and was due to be boarded up this week, but a burglar broke in through a back door stealing spirits and alcopops.

Cash was also forced from a fruit machine.

The pub was empty at the time of the incident.

A spokesman for Medway Police, said: “Officers are investigating a burglary at the Bulls Head pub, London Road Strood.

It’s believed to have occurred sometime between 3pm on Monday, August 10 and 9am on Tuesday, August 11.

“The offender broke through a back door of the pub.

“Four bottles of spirits and some bottles of alcopops were taken from behind the bar. Money was also forced from one of the fruit machines.
