Victim remains in hospital after Rochester stabbing

A suspect is due to appear in court after a stabbing in Rochester which left a man seriously injured.

Police say a man in his 20s sustained an stab wound in an alleged assault in Crow Lane, at around 3.10am on Saturday morning.

The victim made his way to Blue Boar Lane, where he was treated by paramedics.

He was then taken to a local hospital for medical attention, and remains there in a stable condition.

Police arrested a man yesterday, and charged him in connection with the incident.

Michael Omola, of Acres Green Close, Chatham was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a knife in a public place.

The 22-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
