The inquest into the death of a teenager who was stabbed during a “gang-related attack” has been opened.
Kyle Yule, 17, died at Medway Maritime Hospital on Saturday, October 7, after being stabbed in the upper arm.
During an inquest opening, held at Archbishops Palace in Maidstone, a coroner heard that police are investigating the circumstances that led to Kyle’s death.
A post mortem revealed the cause of death was an "incised wound to the right axillary artery".
Officers launched a murder inquiry after being called to East Street, Gillingham, at 8.10pm on Friday, October 6, where 17-year-old Kyle, from Gillingham, was stabbed to death.
A number of people were reported to be causing criminal damage to a silver Renault Clio shortly before Kyle was stabbed and later died in hospital.
Victor Maibvisira, of St John’s Road, was arrested by police on Tuesday, October 10, in Woolwich, south east London.
A 15-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy, and a 20-year-old man, all from the Gillingham area, were arrested on Wednesday this week.
The 15-year-old has since been released under investigation. The two others remain in custody.
Three others from Gillingham, aged 15, 16 and 18, have all been bailed until November.
A 20-year-old man, also from Gillingham and who was also arrested, has been released under investigation.
Maibvisira will appear at Maidstone Crown Court tomorrow and has been remanded in custody.
