Boy, 15, rescued from island at Cliffe nature reserve

A teenage boy had to be rescued after getting stranded on an island at a nature reserve.

Firefighters and ambulance crews were called to help the 15-year-old, who was stuck on the alpha pool island near Salt Lane, Cliffe, at about 7pm.

Crews rescued him using an inshore boat and treated him before handing him over to the ambulance service.
