Two teenagers from Gillingham arrested following shop robbery

Two 17-year-old boys have been arrested following a robbery at a newsagent's.

The incident happened at a shop in Gillingham Road at around 10pm on Tuesday, August 30.

Two people were said to have forced their way inside the newsagent's before assaulting the victim and stealing tobacco products from the shop.

Officers were called and carried out a search of the area before arresting a 17-year-old boy.

After further inquiries, a second 17-year old boy was arrested at an address in the town at 1.47pm on Wednesday, August 31.

Both boys were arrested on suspicion of robbery, and have since been released on bail until September 25.
