Dependable, hard-working and loving.

That is how the family of Michael Sharp, who died in a road accident last Thursday, describe him.

The 57-year-old, from Chatham, was killed on the A229 Blue Bell Hill, near the Lower Bell pub.

Kent Police confirmed his identity this afternoon.

Mr Sharp was riding his Honda 1000cc bike towards Aylesford village when he collided with a Vauxhall Corsa at around 11.20am.

Mr Sharp’s family has released a statement paying tribute to a loving family man.

The statement reads: "He was a dependable, hard-working, loving husband, who loved bikes and riding them and being with his wife and family.

"He will be dearly missed by his wife, family and friends."
