Appeal for witnesses to ‘unexplained death’ in Lower Twydall Lane, Gillingham

Police are seeking witnesses after a man was found dead on a grass verge.

Officers investigating the unexplained death are hoping anyone with information will come forward who may have seen the man in the hours beforehand.

Police were called to Lower Twydall Lane, in Gillingham, just before 11.30pm on Thursday (July 13), where the man’s body was found.

His body was discovered on a grass verge, north of the railway line.

He has since been identified as a local man in his 50s and his next of kin have been informed.

The cause of death is not yet known and officers are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the man in the hours beforehand.

He is described as white, with a beard, and was found wearing a blue t-shirt, grey shorts and white trainers.
