A Hempstead woman has been banned from driving for 18 months after pleading guilty to drink-driving.

Kelly Jane Wildes, 39, of Hemptead Road, was charged with driving a vehicle while her alcohol level was above the legal limit.

It came after a crash on the Bowater roundabout on the A2 on Wednesday, July 1.

Wildes had to be cut out of her vehicle after the three-car pile-up in Gillingham which happened at about 3.40pm.

It led to major disruption as police closed the road to allow firefighters and paramedics through.

The three cars involved were an Audi soft-top, a Ford Focus belonging to a driving school and a Fiat Panda.

Wildes, who was driving the Audi, appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court, Chatham, on Tuesday, July 21.

She was also fined £500 and ordered to pay £75 court costs.
