Gillingham boss Steve Lovell is in line to be named League 1 manager-of-the-month for January.
Lovell guided the Gills to four wins from four, including a first-ever victory for the club at Charlton, on New Year’s Day.
Striker Tom Eaves has also been nominated for the Sky Bet monthly player award, scoring four goals during the month.
Lovell was delighted to see Eaves get some recognition, after scoring in the wins at Charlton and Scunthorpe, along with two against Fleetwood.
The Gills boss said: “Tom has had a good season, as well as a good month, he deserves that.
“Apart from his goals there is all the hard work that he puts in and the way he trains, I am very pleased for him.”
Lovell has been nominated alongside managers of Blackburn, Bristol Rovers and AFC Wimbledon.
“It is a team effort,” added Lovell.
“Me and my coaches have worked very hard to have made the month as positive as we could. We couldn’t have got any better than four wins in the month, starting off with the Charlton game. It was a very good month.
“It is nice to be recognised for the hard work, not just for me, but for all my staff and everyone at the club.”
Those wins pushed the Gills into the top half of the table and onto 40 points. Lovell is chasing a minimum of 50 to ensure they avoid relegation this season.
The player-of-the-month and the manager-of-the-month award winners will be announced on Friday morning.
