Peter Taylor has been hit with a £1,000 fine by the Football Association.

The Gills boss has also apologised for his actions after a bottle he threw ended up on the pitch during last weekend’s defeat to Scunthorpe United.

Taylor was charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 and he accepted the £1,000 fine for misconduct.

He said: “I apologise for throwing the empty bottle, I shouldn’t have done it, but I accept the fine and I’ll take it on the chin.”

Taylor was sent to the stands last Saturday for the incident. His frustration boiled over when the referee failed to produce a yellow card for a challenge on Jermaine McGlashan.
