Could you turn tired tootsies into happy feet?

FOOT masseurs are needed to help give relief to people who feel a little footsore after taking part in this year's KM Shepherd Neame Charity Walk.

The volunteers, who must be professionally trained, are required at The Hop Farm Country Park at Beltring, near Paddock Wood, where both walks start and finish.

In return for having their aching feet massaged, walkers will be asked to make a donation for the chosen charities to benefit from the 2003 walk.

They are the county's nine hospices: Demelza House Children's Hospice, Bobbing, near Sittingbourne; the Heart of Kent Hospice, Aylesford; the Hospice in the Weald, Pembury; the Lions Hospice, Northfleet; The Ellenor Foundation, Dartford, the Wisdom Hospice, Rochester; and the three Pilgrims Hospices in Canterbury, Willesborough, and Margate.

Walkers taking part in the annual charity walk on Sunday, May 18 have a choice of an 11-mile route or a more leisurely six-mile stroll through the heart of the Kent countryside.

Joining the popular event costs just £6 for adults and £12 for a family of up to two adults and two children. It is £2 for each additional child under 16. All children under 16-years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

A snack breakfast of rolls, tea, coffee or cold drinks will be available at the start, from 7.30am. Those who complete the walk will get a signed certificate to commemorate their efforts.

Foot masseurs who wish to offer their services for the event should write to walk co-ordinator David Cornell, c/o Charity Walk, Shepherd Neame, 17 Court Street, Faversham, Kent ME13 7AX.

Walkers are reminded that to take part they must be in good health. If they have any medical condition, or are in any doubt about their health, they must get clearance from their doctor before starting.

Pre-registration is essential. Entry forms and payment should be sent to Mr Cornell at the above address. Cheques/postal orders should be made payable to Charity Walk.
