Three charities are thousands of pounds better off after some hardy souls braved the heights for charity.

Almost £5,500 was raised at the KM's abseil at Fremlin Walk, Maidstone.

Among those who took part were this team from Denne Construction near Sittingbourne.

The money was split between Guide Dogs for the Blind, which is the KM’s charity of the year, the Heart of Kent Hospice and the children’s road safety charity Kent Walking Bus.

Four companies backed the event with Fremlin Walk, Wilmoths Citroen, Turkey Mill events and DSH chartered accountants and business advisors all donating £500 to go towards covering the cost of the event.
