A sponsored walk in aid of the National Association for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease is being held on Sunday, January 11, from Minnis Bay to Ramsgate.

The 20km trek starts at 10am and follows the scenic coastal route. The walkers are Peter Eyre who runs the Elite Fitness Studio in ThanetRoad, Broadstairs, and his partner Cara Jones, a member of the Isle of Thanet Extra sales team.

Peter said: “The National Association for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (NACC) brings together people of all ages who have Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis, which includes Proctitis, their families and the health professionals involved in their care. These two illnesses are both forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and they affect about 1 in 200 people in the United Kingdom. This means there are on average 650 sufferers just in Thanet.

“We will be performing this walk in wind, rain and even snow to raise money for the charity.”

All donations will be gratefully received at Elite Fitness Studio, Thanet Road, Broadstairs CT10 1LF (behind TSB)
