Giant signs telling people where to park recently infuriated several of our Rainham readers.

But it’s not the only bit of roadside furniture stopping Medway motorists in their tracks.

In Dock Road, Chatham, drivers probably have to swing around the mini-roundabout a couple of times before they’re able to take in all the detail.

And the famous statue of postal pioneer Thomas Waghorn in Railway Street, Chatham has been getting people lost for years. His finger is said to point in the direction of the best overland route to India. The furthest most reach is the nearest public convenience.
