Beach clean scours Sandwich Bay of plastics thanks to Cuddle Earth volunteer litter pickers

More than 65 volunteers joined Cuddle Earth for a beach clean at Sandwich Bay.

In partnership with environmental group 100 tons of plastic and supported by Deal With It, volunteers scooped an impressive 69.6kg of litter, including plastic bottles, plastic cups, food wrappers and fishing net.

Cuddle Earth will be hosting more beach cleans in the future to address the growing problem of plastic pollution which detracts from our coastline’s natural beauty and harms wildlife.

'Our supporters' help really does make a difference to our environment' - Christian Chodecki, Cuddle Earth

Christian Chodecki, project manager said: “We are so impressed by the number of volunteers who took the time to join us for our most recent beach clean. We couldn’t do it without them, and their support really does make a difference to our environment.”
