Man taken to King's College Hospital in London after accident in Shoreham, Sevenoaks

A cyclist was taken to hospital after an accident in Sevenoaks yesterday.

Emergency services were called just after noon to Shacklands Road, Shoreham to reports of a cyclist being injured after coming off of his bike.

An air ambulance was called to assist and landed in a field nearby.

The man, thought to be in his 50s, is believed to have suffered injuries to his head, neck, throat, arm and leg.

He was assessed on scene and was reported to have been unconscious for a period of time.

He was taken by road to King's College Hospital in London for further treatment.

The air ambulance also attended an accident on the M25 yesterday afternoon, which left one side of the carriageway closed for several hours.

The helicopter landed in a field next to the motorway and a female cyclist in her 40s was transferred to a major trauma centre with serious injuries.

Police are still appealing for information about the incident.
