Body in park: no suspicious circumstances

THE body of a man found in a car at Barton's Point Coastal Park in Sheerness at the weekend is due to be named tomorrow.

Police were called to the park off Marine Parade at around 7am on Friday morning by a member of the public.

Detectives discovered the 36-year old Ramsgate man inside a D-registration red Ford Escort. There was a hose pipe running into the car.

His body was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital in Gillingham. A post mortem examination is due to be carried out on Wednesday or Thursday.

Det Insp Mick Costello confirmed there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
