Leysdown man Peter Duhig charged following incident in Leysdown Road, Leysdown

A man has been charged with wounding with intent and dangerous driving after a man was found lying seriously hurt in a road.

The victim was discovered with head injuries in the middle of Leysdown Road on Saturday afternoon.

Peter Duhig, 54, of Eastern Road, Leysdown, has since been remanded in custody to appear before Medway magistrates today.

Four ambulance vehicles and police attended the scene and the victim was treated by paramedics.

He was airlifted to St George's Hospital, London, where he is said to be in a stable condition.

Leysdown Road was closed for nearly three hours until 5pm.
