Man charged after two assaulted in Sheerness High Street

A man has been charged with attacking two people who ended up in hospital.

The 30-year-old was arrested following an incident which started inside a property in Coronation Road at around 7.10pm on Monday (May 13). An assault and criminal damage was said to have taken place.

It is alleged a suspect fled on foot towards the High Street where he assaulted members of the public and an emergency worker as well as damaging some vehicles.

Two of the victims, a man and a woman, were taken to hospital.

Patrols were dispatched at 7.16pm and arrived at the scene two minutes later where they detained a man.

Edwards, of Beatrice Road, Greater London, has been been charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, assaulting an emergency worker and four counts of criminal damage.
