Man found dead on beach named

The man who was found dead on Sheerness beach last week has been named as John Arthur Saxon.

The 57-year-old, of Meyrick Road, Sheerness, was discovered by a member of the public last Wednesday.

Police are not treating the incident as suspicious and the cause of death has been given as cuts to the wrists.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned yesterday (Wednesday).
