Pedestrian 'serious' after collision with car

A 21-year-old Kent man is in a serious condition in a London hospital after being involved a collision with a black BMW.

Police say the man suffered a serious head injured in the incident which happened in High Street, Sheerness, at about 11.25pm last Friday.

He was taken to Medway Maritime Hhospital in Gillingham by ambulance but later transferred to Kings College Hospital in London. A Kent Police spokeswoamn said: "He is currently in a serious condition."

Following the collision, the high street was closed at the junction of Millennium Way while police carried out an investigation.
