Martin McDonagh was the star of the show for Sheerness ABC on Saturday, as he defeated ABA finalist and England hopeful Peter Arnold, during Sheerness’ four-bout match at Bexleyheath.

The Kent title holder threw combination after combination in the final two rounds to secure victory, the best of his amateur career.

Earlier in the night Josh Brum came just short of a win against the experienced William Powell, losing the bout on points.

Jake Montella produced Sheerness’ second winner of the match, defeating Thomas Arnold on a unanimous points decision after boxing with a rapid tempo.

Annelle Massey’s first ever bout rounded off the evening, but despite boxing to a high standard, she lost on a close points verdict.
