Sheppey United caretaker boss Barry Morgan insists the club are moving in the right direction.

Morgan is overseeing the end of season run-in for the club in the Kent Invicta League.

A patched-together team won 1-0 on Easter Monday – their first win since the departure of former boss Kevin Hake.

They go again on Saturday with a home game against Crockenhill and Morgan will again be putting together a team to try and do a job.

Morgan said: “It’s not about results. The club are pointing in the right direction and next year it will be a different kettle of fish.

“However it is taken on, the team will be playing in the same vein. We are organised and know what we’re doing.

“Matt and Ernie (the joint chairmen) asked me to set them on their way. Whatever happens next season, I am interested to be part of the project. How it is going to be we will have to wait and see.

“At the moment we are making four or five changes a game to put a team together. We’ll do the same on Saturday for the visit of Crockenhill.

“We have had injuries and people have pulled out of games but it’s certainly been an entertaining few weeks to say the least.”
