Appeal after biker's fatal crash

KENT Police are appealing for witnesses after a 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a road crash.

The tragedy happened shortly after 1pm on Saturday in Ashford. The victim, a man from the Sittingbourne area, was riding along the Romney Marsh Road dual carriageway from the direction of Kingsnorth when he struck the central reservation and fell from his machine.

He was riding a blue Yamaha R6 motorbike and the prefix of his number plate was T978. No other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

Anyone who thinks they may have seen the bike just before the accident is asked to telephone Kent Police's serious crash investigation unit on 01622 798538.
