A

huge blaze at a former care home in Sittingbourne has closed the A2.
Crews were called to the three-storey derelict building behind the Total garage in London Road at 6.15am.
The A2 was closed in both directions while firefighters tackle the flames.
Some 50 firefighters are at the scene. There are currently nine pumps and support units there.
The blaze has now been put out, but the main route into Sittingbourne has been closed off.
The building is 20m x 30m over three floors and used to be an old people's home.
Fire chiefs have asked for a building control inspector to get to the scene as there are concerns about the building and how stable it is.
